Petrolisthes cinctipes View in CoL ( Randall, 1840: 136, as Porcellana cinctipes View in CoL ) a temperate Eastern Pacific species, was described from the Hawaiian Is. (as “Sandwich Is.”), possibly in error, but never recorded again from the archipelago.
