Specimens examined. Las Galeras (Peninsula de Samaná), 3-X-2008, one female on Sapindus saponaria View in CoL L. ( Sapindaceae View in CoL ); one female on Piper aduncum View in CoL L. ( Piperaceae View in CoL ); two females and one male on Carica papaya L. ( Caricaceae ).
Remarks. This species has previously been recorded from Colombia, Guadeloupe ( Kreiter et al., 2006), Guatemala, Honduras, Martinique, Nicaragua and Perú. The measurements of five females collected are very similar to the re-description of Denmark & Muma (1972) except for the shorter St IV, which is 61 µm long in the type material. Dorsal shield, 319 µm long (312–328) and 233 wide (218–242); ventrianal shield, 101 µm long (100–102) and 48 wide (46–50). Setae j1: 29 (28–30), j3: 27 (26–28), j4, j5, j6, J2: 7–9, J5: 6, z2: 14 (13–15), z4: 13 (12–14), z5: 8, Z1: 9, Z4: 9 (9–10), Z5: 52 (50–55), s4: 19 (18–20), S2, S4: 12 (11–14), S5: 11, r3: 15 (14–16), R1: 13 (13–14), Sge III: 30 (28–33), Sge IV: 38 (36–40), Sti IV: 26 (25–27), St IV: 50 (48–52).
