Tremapterus View in CoL (s.s.) pluto (Linnavuori) , stat.nov., comb. nov.

Sepullia callosa pluto Linnavuori, 1973:72 .

Diagnosis. Pale brown with dispersed brown dots and brown muscle arcs on frons; pronotum with median carina; legs with reddish spots; tegmina with 2 irregular white bands, 1 just before midlength (when wings folded, coincident with pale scutellar tip), 1 across ends of anteapical cells; large, brown bulla in central anteapical cell ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 E). Pronotum distinctly declivous, apex of head at level of lower half of eye; punctations on pronotum and clavi evenly dispersed, sparse, not connecting to form rugae. Male unknown. Ovipositor with 2nd valvulae 3 × as long as broad, ventral margin angled dorsad on apical quarter to sharp tip just below dorsal surface ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 G). Length: 4.0 mm.

Type. Holotype ♀, SOMALIA: nr. Hargeissa, 23–28 June 1963 (Linnavuori); in AMNH.

Remarks. This, the most northerly member of its subgenus, was formerly considered to be a subspecies of a species now in subgenus Patriziana . It has the longest pronotal margins in the nominate subgenus, suggesting that the nominate subgenus to which it belongs might be paraphyletic with respect to Patriziana . However, T. pluto does have the short ovipositor characteristic of several other members of the nominate subgenus ( Figs 10 View FIGURE 10 F, H).
