"Habitat in India orientali." RCN: 2473.

Basionym: Asparagus draco L. (1762) .

Lectotype (Bos in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 43. 1993): [icon] “Draco” in Clusius, Rar. Pl. Hist 1: 1. 1601 (see p. 119).

Generitype of Dracaena Linnaeus (vide Rafinesque, Fl. Tell. 4: 17. 1838).

Current name: Dracaena draco (L.) L. ( Agavaceae / Dracaenaceae ).

Note: Bos (in Agric. Univ. Wageningen Pap. 84-1: 16. 1984) and Ramón-Laca Menéndez de Luarca (in Anales Jard. Bot. Madrid 55: 422, f. 2. 1997) both reproduce the Clusius type figure.
