Note: A superfluous name for M. punctatum L. (1760) and therefore illegitimate, though it has been incorrectly used (as Androcymbium capense (L.) Krause ) by recent authors such as Müller-Doblies & Müller-Doblies (in Feddes Repert. 113: 577. 2002), who also treated unspecified material in LINN (presumably either 467.4 or 467.5) as the type.
