Remarks. (1) The senior author dissected the syntype specimen of Parasiccia maculata var. formosibia Strand, 1917 deposited in MWM/ZSM and found no genital differences from other forms of C. limbata . To avoid any probable confusion of this taxon with the externally similar and also variable C. pica , here we designate the syntype dissected as lectotype. (2) Unfortunately, we did not find pictures of the holotype female of Parasiccia maculata f. shirakii Matsumura, 1930 among the photo materials of the Matsumura collection (EIHU, Sapporo) kindly provided by Dr. V.V. Zolotuhin Dr. V.V. Dubatolov. In his paper, Hiroshi Inoue (1988) also did not mention the type and established the synonymy without any comments. Taking these facts into account, we can only assume that the holotype is lost. However, the original description of this taxon given by Matsumura (1930) clearly corresponds to the external appearance of C. limbata therefore we consider shirakii as a junior synonym of C. limbata . (3) Wileman (1911) described Asura limbata from two specimens of both sexes, which are syntypes. To avoid any confusion in the future here we designate the male specimen labeled as “Type” as lectotype.

Diagnosis. Forewing length is 9–10.5 mm in males and 11–12 mm in females. The species is similar externally to C. maculata , but can be easily distinguished by its shorter lamellae of male antennae, smaller size, the smoothly curved postmedial line lacking a deep concavity at costa and anal margin and two short triangular protrusions opposite the cell, and the paler hindwing with a weaker brownish suffusion. The male genitalia differ clearly from those of other congeners by the aedeagus vesica bearing a series of very long, robust spines. The differences between C. limbata and its closest relative C. pica are listed in the diagnosis of the latter species.

Distribution. Endemic to Taiwan Island.
