Material and distribution in Cuba. Observations on live animals. Eleven whole mounts (UH VIII.2.40– VIII.2.50): one from Nicaro (January 28, 2016), intertidal in coarse sand, salinity 30 ‰; one from Macabí (April 23, 2017), intertidal, upper 10 cm of the fine sand, salinity 34 ‰; eight from Siboney (February 7 & May 15, 2016, March 22 and June 5, 2017), intertidal up to 0.6 m depth, in fine sand with organic debris, salinity 32–35 ‰; one from Chivirico (March 17, 2017), intertidal in very fine sand, salinity 35 ‰.

Remarks. In the specimens from Cuba the prostate stylet type IV ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ) is 60–100 µm long (x̄ = 86 µm; n = 11), 10–15 µm wide proximally (x̄ = 12 µm; n = 10) and 3–6 µm wide in the middle (x̄ = 4 µm; n = 10). The accessory stylet type IV ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ) is 250–294 µm long (x̄ = 274 µm; n = 11), 8–14 µm wide proximally (x̄ = 11 µm; n = 11) and 4–8 µm wide subdistally (x̄ = 6 µm; n = 11). The measurements of the specimens from Cuba are in the range of the specimens from Florida and Curaçao, being longer than the specimens from Galapagos Islands and Indonesia (see Artois & Schockaert 2001; Artois & Tessens 2008).
