Neotype (Adamson in J. S. African Bot. 25: 40. 1959): Sparrman 109, Herb. Linn. No. 650.6 ( LINN) .

Current name: Aizoon paniculatum L. ( Aizoaceae ).

Note: Aizoon lanceolatum appeared for the first time in 1774 where it was the third species of Aizoon , a position earlier occupied by A. paniculatum L. (1753) . As the two names also share an identical diagnosis, A. lanceolatum is evidently a superfluous name for A. paniculatum .
