Material examined: Holotype male: Victoria: Dee River 2 km NW of Millgrove (NMV-T-8178). Paratypes, Victoria: upper Acheron River, 37°38’S 145°42’E, 9.i.1957, 2 males, A. Neboiss, ANIC.

Victoria: 49 samples from central and eastern montane areas, NMV.

Diagnosis: This species resembles A. vicanthicus in having a tooth on segment X but is identified readily as the only Australian species with bilobed gonopods. The phallic apparatus bears patches of spinules or microtrichia.

Female: Lacking any distinctive features.

Forewing length: Male 4–5 mm; female 3.8–4.8 mm ( Neboiss 1986b).

Distribution. Known only from Victoria, from the catchment of the Yarra River to the east of Melbourne, and from south and west of Mt Baw Baw.
