Type material. Holotype adult female and allotype adult male, Museu Nacional , Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.
Geographic distribution. SW Atlantic, Espérito Santo, Brazil (Santa Cruz and Cabo Frio) (Fig. 1, number 8).
Remarks. Guţu (1996a) redescribed this species based on 3 specimens (1 female and 2 males) from Cabo Frio, Brazil, near the type locality. He did not illustrate or describe the pleonites as having a pair of lateral plumose and simple setae as in the original description ( Brum, 1978). The presence of these setae was confirmed in the material that we examined.
