Type species. Gelotia frenata Thorell, 1890 View in CoL .

Remarks. The genus Gelotia includes 11 species distributed in China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. In Australia, two species are known: G. robusta Wanless, 1984 and “ Mintonia sp.” ( Davies & Żabka 1989). The latter requires formal description within the genus. The diagnosis of the genus is given by Wanless (1984).
