Distribution: The main range of the species is the Mersin province of Turkey, but it also extends to the western part of Adana and the south/eastern part of Nigde provinces in eastern Mediterranean Anatolia. The record of a female from Turkey, Ankara Province, Kavaklıdere, 1930 (leg. Sureya Bey) ( Salman 1983) is possibly a mislabelling or a confusion of the locality labels since this species does not occur outside the Mediterranean part of Anatolia. Similarly, the sibling species E. marashensis was described ( Salman, 1983) long after the publication by Karabag (1958) and the record of E. annulipes from Maras by O.K. Gulen also possibly refers to E. marashensis . Again, Karabag (1958; p. 57 as coll. Br.) reported this species from Mugla, Fethiye with an unknown number of specimens a locality not mentioned in Salman (1983). However as E. annulipes only occurs in the eastern part of Mediterranean Anatolia, the record from Mugla may in fact refer to E. krueperi or E. smyrnensis which are known from this area.
