Type Locality: None given, listed as Norway, Finnmark, Nord Kapp (vicinity of North Cape) by Eschricht and Reinhardt (1861).
Vernacular Names: North Atlantic Right Whale.
Synonyms: Eubalaena biscayensis (Eschricht 1860) ; Eubalaena nordcaper (Lacépède 1804) .
Distribution: North Atlantic: temperate to tropical waters.
Conservation: CITES – Appendix I; U.S. ESA and IUCN – Endangered.
