Remarks

Paratyphlotanais microcheles View in CoL is not commonly recorded: Holdich and Jones (1983) and Bird (2004) list its range as from Norway to the west coasts of Ireland and Scotland and the Isle of Man, in fine to muddy sands at depths between 9 and 210 m. The present records extend its range further south: it was only found in muddy heterogeneous sediments in depths> 26 m. Not recorded previously from the Isles of Scilly.

The species was removed from Typhlotanais View in CoL by Bird (2004, including synonymy and detailed description and figures), and the genus was removed from the Typhlotanaidae View in CoL by Błażewicz-Paszkowycz (2007).
