Patellapis minutior View in CoL species-group

The P. minutior species-group consists of species in which the females have the basitibial plate apically pointed and the scutum, metasomal terga T1–T2, and propodeum coarsely and densely punctated (i = 0,5d). The males are characterised by the structure of metasomal sternum S8 ( Fig. 26f View FIGURE 26 ; Fig. 30f View FIGURE 30 ) and the narrow (linear) and often inconspicuous dorso-lateral projection of the gonostylus ( Fig. 30g View FIGURE 30 ; Fig. 31i View FIGURE 31 ). The females of P. bidentata and P. minutior are very similar to one another. They can be identified by the combinations of characters given in the diagnoses. The males can be distinguished from each other by the structure and size of the dorso-lateral projection of the gonostylus. This species-group comprises four medium sized species: P. bidentata , P. braunsi , P. minutior and P. schultzei .
