Mitjaevia wangwushana View in CoL Song, Li & Xiong sp. nov.

( Figs. 11–19 View FIGURES 11 – 19 )

Color pattern (including dorsum and face) and external features are similar to M. protuberanta sp. nov. ( Figs. 11, 12 View FIGURES 11 – 19 ). Other morphology as in M. protuberanta except as noted below.

Abdominal apodemes ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 11 – 19 ) short and small, lamellate-like, not extended beyond 3rd sternite.

Male genitalia: Pygofer lobe ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11 – 19 ) broad, with sparse fine setae on lateral surface, and with several microtrichia around hind margin. Pygofer ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11 – 19 ) dorsal appendages and ventral appendages present, not very long, their terminal part acuminate. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 11 – 19 ) with 3 scattered macrosetae starting from middle area approximately and row of short rigid microsetae along outer margin. Style apex expanded, preapical lobe large, prominent. Aedeagal shaft ( Figs. 17, 18 View FIGURES 11 – 19 ) with pair of processes, which quite bent ventrally. Preatrium ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 11 – 19 ) very long, much longer than length of aedeagal shaft; dorsal apodeme visible, about as long as shaft. Gonopore ( Figs. 17, 18 View FIGURES 11 – 19 ) subapically, ventrad. Connective ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 11 – 19 ) central lobe well develpoed, little sclerotized; two arms strong; stem compressed.

Specimen examined. Holotype, male, Mt. Wangwu, Henan Province, China, 726–1700 m, 21–22 Augest 2008, coll. Qiongzhang Song and Jichun Xing. Paratypes: two males, three females, same data as holotype.

Measurement. Body length males 3.1–3.2 mm, females 3.5–3.6 mm.

Remarks. The new species closely resembles M. protuberanta sp. nov., but can be distinguished from the latter by the aedeagal shaft with pair of long processes subapically, and by the preatrium slender, much longer than shaft.

Etymology. The new species is named after its type locality “Wangwushan”.
