Schizaster canaliferus (Lamarck, 1816)

Material: 12 specimens; stations: T6; depth: 5-35 m; substrates: sandy-mud.

Distribution: Atlantic–Mediterranean.

Literature records for central and/or north Adriatic: Lorenz (1863), Zavodnik (1960, 1964, 1977, 1997), Tortonese (1965), Despalatović (2005), Zavodnik et al. (2005, 2006).

Literature records for south Adriatic ( Croatia): Zavodnik (2003).

Literature records for Montenegro: none.

Remarks: Considered as a Mediterranean endemic, but cited for Madeira by Wirtz (1998). Dead tests predominantly collected during the study.
