Hymenoepimecis veranii Loffredo & Penteado-Dias, 2009

Diagnosis. 1) body reddish-brown, except head black, fore and middle legs orange, and hind leg reddish (coxa reddish-brown); 2) fore wing fuscous, veins at proximal half black and apical half light brown, pterostigma yellow; 3) head, in dorsal view, with gena slightly concave behind eyes; 4) face smooth and without a carina; 5) occipital carina upcurved and not reduced dorsally; 6) pronotum with the pocket-like structure not reduced longitudinally; 7) epicnemial carina absent; 8) sternite I with a rounded swelling posteriorly; 9) female with tarsal claw with more or less square lobe, and with apex overtaking the lobe (tarsal claw single in males); 10) female with ovipositor sheath about 1.0 × as long as the hind tibia.

Distribution. Brazil. This is the first record of the species and genus for Argentina ( Fig. 7F ).

Biological notes. Parasitoid of the araneid Araneus omnicolor ( Keyserling, 1893) ( Gonzaga & Sobczak 2007) and Araneus orgaos Levi, 1991 ( Sobczak et al. 2014).
