Type species Planiceps collaris Cresson, 1865 View in CoL , by original designation and monotypy.
Remarks. This genus is only found in the Caribbean ( Bradley 1944). The two species described are found in the Dominican Republic. It is possible that more species within Aporus belong to this group, but a comprehensive revision of the genera in the tribe Aporini is needed to solve this issue. This is the first record of the genus for the Dominican Republic.
