I.2. FAMILY MELANTHRIPIDAE BAGNALL, 1913
The family Melanthripidae includes 67 extant species in four genera, of which Melanthrips with 36 species is the largest (ThripsWiki, 2018). In Iran, eight species in two genera have been recorded.
