Note: Psychotria Linnaeus , nom. cons. against Myrstiphyllum P. Browne (1756) and Psychotrophum P. Browne (1756) .

Davis & al. (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 135: 35-42. 2001) give an extensive review of the typification, and identity, of P. asiatica , which they interpret as close to P. rubra (Lour.) Poir.
