Record numbers (Sea/Ocean classification): Celtic Sea: 2; total: 2.

Record numbers (FAO classification): FAO27: 2; total: 2.

Remarks: This originally, poorly diagnosed species was redescribed by Kristensen & Higgins (1984a) based on type material. However, the type material was in poor condition and therefore not all morphological details were visible. This species needs further redescription based on new material from the type locality, and it has recently been reported near the type locality. It is an intertidal species known only from the Celtic Sea.
