Terra typica: Indian Ocean (Kerguelen Islands)

Indian Ocean:

• 49°31′S, 69°54′E; 0.5–2.1 m bsl: [FAO58] Type locality: Kerguelen Islands, Longue Island, Port-Bizet, rocky coastline, mediolittoral, on algae (Poryphyra sp.) associated with green algae ( Ulothrix sp.). Bellido & Bertrand (1981)

Remarks: This species is known only from the type locality and it is probably closely related to E. horningi , E. s. porphyrae and E. s. verrucariae , which are also known from the sub-Antarctic and similar habitats.
