Remarks

This widely distributed species has been recorded previously in Hong Kong waters ( Hirayama 1991). However, it very closely resembles a number of other species and subspecies. For a discussion of the problems, and characters to distinguish Ampelisca brevicornis from other Hong Kong species, see under Ampelisca tansani ( Hirayama, 1991) .
