- Nach Horak (1997) ist eine Synonymie zu Dameosoma bellum Berlese, 1904, möglich, jedoch nicht hinreichend geklaert.

- Die Zahl der Randzähne am Rostrum kann gelegentlich von 3-5 variieren ( Material aus dem Berliner Grunewald ); dann ist die Abgrenzung gegen S. moritzi problematisch; deren Ökologie ist jedoch verschieden. Der Arten-Komplex muß revidiert werden.

Ökologie: Verbreitet in Waldböden.

Verbreitung: Paläarktis.
