Material examined
One specimen from an undetermined moss sample developing on rock.
Remarks
The species is reported from North America and South America (Galápagos Island included). Maucci & Durante Pasa (1980) reported the species for the Andaman Islands, but Pilato & Lisi (2003) examined one specimen kindly sent by Maucci and stated that it has to be attributed to Echiniscus tessellatus Murray, 1910 .
