Positive for esculin hydrolysis and β-galactosidase in API 20NE, but negative for arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase, glucose fermentation, indole production, nitrate reduction, and urease. N -acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, D-glucose, malic acid, D-maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, and potassium gluconate are utilized.
