Syntypes.
ZMB 4488, “Boutry” [Butre (Bootry), Ahanta West District, Western Region, Ghana], don. Hermann Schlegel (Museum Leyden), and ZMB 8850 “Victoria” [Limbe, Fako Division, Southwest Region, Cameroon], coll. Ernst Richard Reinhold Baumann.
Present name.
Afrixalus dorsalis (Peters, 1875).
Remarks.
Peters’ (1875) description was based on an unknown number of syntypes. He mentioned several specimens found in a pond in Victoria of which we could locate only one specimen. Mertens (1938) restricted the type locality to “Boutry”.
