Subgenus Pedroecous Gorochov, 2014

Diagnosis. Apterous male ( E. apterus ); male fore tibia without tympana ( E. apterus ); phallic sclerite (using terminology from Desutter-Grandcolas 2003): Pseudepiphallus short, width much greater than its length; pseudepiphallus posterolateral projections divided into pseudepiphallic dorsal branch (Ps.db) and pseudepiphallic ventral branch (A sclerite); “A” sclerite little distinguished ventrally or even tubercle (see Souza-Dias et al. 2014: Fig. 3, A–D).

Amended Diagnosis. Males with tegmina developed ( E. didymus and troglobius n. sp.) or absent ( E. apterus ),

fore tibia with an oval auditory tympanum at inner side ( E. didymus and troglobius n. sp.) or without tympana ( E. apterous ); phallic sclerite: as initially described by Gorochov (2014).
