Type material. Holotype ♀, LESOTHO: Mohale Dam, Island 2, 29º25’S, 28º05’E, 14.XII.2003, C. Haddad leg. ( NMBA 9631).

Etymology. The specific name is an adjective derived from the type locality.

Diagnosis. Cheiramiona mohalensis sp. nov. is similar to C. filipes by the closely spaced SPER and short copulatory tubes, but is differentiated by the spacing of the copulatory openings, which are clearly separated in C. mohalensis sp. nov. and adjacent to each other in C. filipes ( Figs 65–66 View FIGURES 61 – 72. 61 – 63 , see Lotz 2002: figs 130–131).

Description. Female (n = 1): TL = 4.0; CL = 1.9; CW = 1.5; OAL = 0.3; OAW = 1.0; CLL = 0.05. Chelicerae: robust with long fangs; PMT:RMT = 4:4 ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 61 – 72. 61 – 63 ). Measurements: AME–AME 0.10; AME–ALE 0.15; AME diameter 0.10; PME–PME 0.20; PME–PLE 0.20; PME diameter 0.10; MOQAW 0.30; MOQPW 0.40; CI (CL/ CW) 1.27; LL:CL 3.32; STL 0.90; STW 0.85. Leg measurements: I—1.7+0.7+1.5+1.7+0.7 = 6.3; II— 1.2+0.6+0.8+1.1+0.5 = 4.2; III—1.0+0.5+0.7+0.9+0.4 = 3.5; IV—1.5+0.6+1.2+1.3+0.5 = 5.1; Palp— 0.7+0.3+0.4+0.7 = 2.1. Leg spines: I—0, 0, 0-0- 1 v; II—0, 0, 0-0- 1 v; III—0, 0, 0-0-3 v1 p1r; IV—0, 0, 0-1 v1 p- 3 v1 p1r. Abdomen: creamy-yellow with dark heart mark and two separated longitudinal rows of dark spots posterior of heart mark. Epigynum ( Figs 65–66 View FIGURES 61 – 72. 61 – 63 ): wider than long, with two round median depressions near epigastric fold; copulatory openings in depressions; internally, short copulatory ducts loop posteriorly then laterally before ending into the posterior part of SPER; fertilization tubes enter SPER posteriorly. Male: unknown.

Distribution. Only known from the type locality ( Fig. 101 View FIGURES 101 – 102 ).
