Type material examined.— Holotype male, Argentina, Santiago del Estero, Rio Hondo, 18-VIII-52, Drake collection ( USNM).
Other specimens examined.— ARGENTINA: 1 male 7 females, Buenos Aires, Salinas Chicas , 8 Mar. 2008, P. Dellapé col. ( MLP); 1 male, Mendoza, Rt. 40, 10 mi. N Mendoza city, 24 Nov. 76, sweeping Prosopis flexuosa ( USNM); 1 male, Santiago del Estero, Rio Hondo, 14 Feb. 57, R. Golbach ,, Inst. M. Lillo , P. Wyg [odzinsky], Balio- nysius maculatus det. P. D. Ashlock 64 ( USNM); 1 female, San Juan, Rt. 40, 39 mi. N San Juan city, 26 Nov. 76, sweeping Prosopis flexuosa ( USNM).
Distribution.—Previously known only from Santiago del Estero Province ( Ashlock 1967). New records are Buenos Aires, Mendoza, and San Juan provinces.
