Tamdaopteron major Gorochov, 2005 . Far East Entomologist 48: 8. Holotype: male, Vietnam (ZIS, S. Petersburg)
Additional description: Male. Stridulatory file slightly cambered, with about 75 teeth, basal fourth translucent, without any teeth, median half with closely arranged 61 comparatively large teeth, apical quarter with widely arranged teeth gradually becoming smaller toward the apex ( Fig. 46).
Measurements of male (mm): Length of body 25.0; length of pronotum 4.8; length of tegmen 48.0; largest width of tegmen 15.5; length of hind wing 54.0; length of posterior femur 28.0.
Material examined: CHINA: GUANGXI PROV.: Longzhou, Nonggang, 240 m, 2males, 20–21.v.1982, Coll. Li Fashen ( CAU); CHINA: HAINAN ISLAND: Changjiang, Bawangling Nature Reserve, 2 males, 15– 17.v.2007, Coll. Liang Hongbin & Ding Liang ( IZAS).
Distribution: China: Guangxi Province (Longzhou), Hainan Island (Changjiang); Vietnam.
