Remark. The species was erroneously reported from Thailand as ‘ Lyclene lutara Moore, 1859 ’ by Černý & Pinratana (2009). The real Miltochrista lutara (Moore, [1860]) is illustrated by Volynkin (2017).

Diagnosis. Forewing length is 10.5–11.5 mm (wingspan 20.5–23 mm) in males and 12–13 mm (wingspan 24–25 mm) in females. Miltochrista adelfika sp. n. displays no external differences from its closest relative M. kontumica . The male genitalia of the new species can be distinguished from those of M. kontumica by its distally more dilated valva, larger and dorsally more curved distal costal process, more elongated and more robust distal saccular process, slightly longer cornuti and the stronger granulation of the largest medial diverticulum of aedeagus vesica. The female genitalia of M. adelfika sp. n. differ from those of M. kontumica by the broader and almost entire area of spinulose scobination of corpus bursae having only a narrow membranous area at the base of ductus seminalis, whereas in M. kontumica the spinulose scobination area is interrupted into a broad latero-anterior cluster consisting of robust thorn-like spinules with broad bases, and two long, ribbon-shaped clusters consisting of weaker spinules without broad bases. In addition, the subostial ligula of M. adelfika sp. n. are slightly narrower, than those of M. kontumica .

India (Assam, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland), North Myanmar (Kachin State and Mandalay Region), China (Yunnan Province), North and West Thailand (Chiang Mai, Nan, Mae Hong Son and Kanchanaburi Provinces) ( Černý & Pinratana 2009, as Lyclene lutara ), North Laos (Sainyabuli Province), North Vietnam (Hòa Bình, Vĩnh Phúc and Lào Cai Provinces).

Etymology. In Greek, the word ‘αδελφικά’ means ‘sister’. The specific epithet refers to the fact that the new species is a sister species of M. kontumica .
