Neotype (Schutte & Van Wyk in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 62. 1993): Herb. Linn. No. 910.1 ( LINN) .

Generitype of Liparia Linnaeus (vide Hutchinson, Gen. Fl. Pl 1: 367. 1964).

Current name: Liparia splendens (Burm. f.) Bos & de Wit View in CoL ( Fabaceae : Faboideae ).

Note: Bos (in J. S. African Bot. 33: 270, 281. 1967) noted that two sheets in LINN (910.1, 910.2) were annotated only by Linnaeus filius and post-date the publication of the name. Schutte & Van Wyk subsequently designated one of these sheets as a neotype.
