C. Santos 2000: 4 (key); Lencioni 2005: 128 (description and distribution, illustration of misidentified specimen); Machado 2006: 1065 (comparison with H. gracile View in CoL ); Garrison et al. 2010: 88 (list).

Types. Male lectotype in MCZ (not examined) .

Additional material examined. None.

Illustration made from following specimens. Photos of the lectotype male (Fig. 12A, 12B, 32A, 32B, 32C, 32D).

Distribution. Only the type locality. Brazil: Rio de Janeiro State: Nova Friburgo.

Diagnosis. This poorly known species shares the dark stripe that partially covers the mesepimeron (posthumeral stripe) with H. gracile and H. luizfelipei (Figs. 31A, 31E, 32A); differs from these two species by having dorsal part of head much darker. Shares posterior lobe of prothorax orange without dark marks with H. gracile (Figs. 31C, 32C). Differs from H. luizfelipei by having dorsum of S2 pale (darker in H. luizfelipei and H. gracile ). Cercus in lateral view: dorsobasal expansion present. Ventrobasal expansion very small but present. almost straight (Fig. 12B). Cercus in mediodorsal view: basal, medial and apical portions of cercus subequal. Ventral expansion with long hairs covering ventral 1/4. Ventral branch of medial process bluntly triangular with apex emarginate, sclerotized ridge splitting ventral branch in two, dorsal branch small, triangular and attached to sclerotized ridge by internal side of triangle (Fig. 12A).
