In describing Adelobotrys barbata, Triana (1871) cited two collections, Spruce 2636 and 3450, each currently known from three sheets, all deposited at K except for a single sheet of Spruce 2636 at P. The specimen proposed here as lectotype was selected because it best fits the original description, presenting buds, flowers and fruits. Moreover, it is annotated as “ Adelobotrys barbata n. sp. ” in Triana’s own hand.

For Meriania ferruginea, Suessenguth (1937) indicated three syntypes (Ph. Von Luetzelburg 22242, 22246, 22867), that are deposited at M and R. We propose here Ph. Von Luetzelburg 22867 (M-0036246) as the lectotype because this collection is consistent with the original description and M was Suessenguth’s home institution.
