3. Adelobotrys ciliata (Naudin) Triana (1871: 68) View in CoL .
≡ Davya ciliata Naudin (1852: 137) View in CoL . Type:— “In Guyana batavica secus flumen Carouany”, February 1844, A. Kappler 1682 (lectotype P-00219206!, second-step designated here, first-step designated by Wurdack & Renner 1993; isolectotypes B† [photograph F-016848, digital image!], G-00386573!, MO-
2528380 [digital image!], P-00219207!, S [digital image!], S [fragments!]).
Naudin (1852) described Davya ciliata citing Kappler 1682. Specimens of this collection are deposited in the herbaria G, MO, P and S. Wurdack & Renner (1993) indicated that the holotype was deposited at P. Martin & Cremers (2007) cited two duplicates of this collection housed at P, but they do not give specifics on which of the sheets is the holotype and which is the isotype. Martin & Cremers’s indication of two specimens in Paris suggests that the second step lectotypification is necessary. Following ICN Articles 9.9 and 9.17 we treat Wurdack & Renner (1993) statement as a first step lectotypification. We propose here P-00219206 as [second-step] lectotype because it bears illustrations and descriptions of floral parts prepared by the author, and P was Naudin’s home institution.
