Holotype female from BRAZIL: Amazonas: Maués: " II -[19] 39 \ AMAZONAS \ Maúes \ Coll. E. Balint ", "[J. P. Fonseca’s handwriting] Membracis \ zonata Fairm [aire]. \ 1846", "[Sakakibara’s handwriting] HOLOTYPUS \ Membracis \ fonsecai \ A. M. Sakakibara 19 92 ". Double-mounted on minuten, pronotum broken, cracked longitudinally from above humeral angles (where there is a small circular hole) to the tip of posterior process; right metathoracic leg lacking tarsal claws.
