Lectotype ( Jørgensen & al. in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 115: 358, f. 60. 1994): [icon] "Muscus corniculatus" in Tabernaemontanus, Eicones Pl.: 809, upper fig. 1590. - Epitype ( Jørgensen & al. in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 115: 358, 382. 1994): Herb. Linn. No. 1273.249 ( LINN) .

Current name: Cladonia subulata (L.) Weber ex F.H. Wigg. ( Cladoniaceae).

Note: Jørgensen & al. rejected Laundon’s earlier choice of 1273.249 (LINN) as lectotype as it is not original material for the name. However, they designated it as an epitype.
