( Figs 1–3 View FIGURES 1–9 )

Material studied: HOLOTYPE, ♂: IVORY COAST, 1171 m, Mt. Tonkoui Peak , 0 7o 27’15.2’’N, 0 0 7o 38’12.5’’W, 12-18.VII.2015. General Collecting Aristophanous, M., Moretto, P., Ruzzier, E. leg. / BMNH {E}, 2015-177. / BMNH (E), 1460885. BMNH .

Description: Body ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–9 ) entirely reddish-brown, head, pronotum, abdomen and antennae darker, elytra and legs more reddish, head, pronotum and elytra rugose, composite tergite smooth, shiny. Length 2.36 mm, maximum width of elytra 1.20 mm.

Head widest across eyes, with elevated carinae in anterior half, 1.5 as long as wide, with lateraly projecting genae, temples about twice as long as diameter of eyes, frontal and vertexal fovea absent, rostrum strongly projecting anteriad, projecting process not pointed. Clypeus well-visible dorsally.

Antennae short, with three antennomeres, scape minuscule, not visible dorsally, pedicel also small, partly visible dorsally, terminal antennomeres long, slightly curved, about 6.8 times as long as pedicel and about 3.8 times as long as wide in middle, at apex oval in cross section, with 4 ribs and 4 sulcus ending near apex.

Pronotum pentagonal with well-defined anterior corners, 1.3 times as wide as long, with well-defined, wide entire median sulcus, surface of sulcus shagreened.

Elytra twice as wide as long, 1.6 times as long as pronotum, lacking basal foveae, with two entire discal carinae, discal carinae oblique, humeri with well-defined, prominent tooth. Elytral posterior edge with small elytral humps located close to posterior corners, elytral trichomes short attached to elytral humps from their inner side.

Abdomen 1.25 times as wide as long, 1.4 times as long as elytra, composite tergite (IV–VI) with fine puncturation, shiny, with large basal depression ending by elevated short elongate carinae, with three visible paratergites, first paratergites bearing large trichomes.

Legs short and slender, lacking sexual characters like spines or spurs.

Aedeagus ( Figs 2, 3 View FIGURES 1–9 ) about 0.49 mm long and 0.18 mm wide, about 2,70 times as long as wide, basal bulb large, apical lobe about as long as basal bulb, slender and tapered to apex, at apex slightly truncate, ventrolateral foramen strongly projecting, phallobase diaphragm oval, about 1.6 of length of basal bulb.

Sexual dimorphism. Females unknown.

Differential diagnosis: Monodiger ivoricus differs from its congener M. sulcatus Paulian, 1948 by having 1) rostrum strongly projecting anteriad, projecting process not pointed, 2) larger eyes, temples only about twice as long as longitudinal diameter of eyes and 3) anterior corner of pronotum less projecting anteriad, corners below level of its anterior margin (for the comparison see Célis, 1969: 419).

Biology: Unknown.

Distribution: Ivory Coast.

Etymology: Locotypic, named after Ivory Coast, country of its discovery.
