Denhezia Dechambre, 2006 (incertae sedis)

Denhezia Dechambre, 2006: 227 . Type species: Denhezia caucacola Dechambre 2006: 227 .

Diagnosis. According to Dechambre (2006) the genus has the frontoclypeal suture marked; the mandibles entire, without teeth or lobes, with apex truncate; the pronotum without tubercles or depressions; the male protarsus enlarged; and the propygidium without stridulatory striae.

Distribution. Colombia and Ecuador ( Dechambre 2006).

Taxonomic remarks. Although no mentioned by Dechambre (2006), the only diagnostic character to differentiate Denhezia from Parapucaya is the absence of pronotal tubercles. Those tubercles are sometimes nearly absent and difficult to observe in the species of Parapucaya . The coloration, general appearance, the shape of the clypeus and mandibles are the same for both genera. We consider that Denhezia and Parapucaya are synonyms, but a revision of type material is needed to confirm it. Therefore, for the time here it is treated as incertae sedis, until a synonymy is established.
