Genus Morellia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830

Sixteen species of the genus are recorded from the Afrotropical Region (Pont 1980, 2006). Morellia nilotica (Loew, 1856) was recorded from Namibia by Zielke (1971 c: 68, “Süd-West-Afrika”), but was not included in the material examined.
