1. Metasternum with deep, oblique mesotarsal groove ( Fig. 1B ) (Genus Aulonothroscus ) ............................. 2

- Metasternum without oblique mesotarsal groove (Genus Trixagus ); compound eyes emarginate almost half of its diameter by ocular canthus; frons with frontal keels; parameres covered with long pubescence throughout lateral surface. T. dermestoides

2. Frons without frontal keel ( Fig. 1D ); prosternal process with marginal carinae laterally, reaching half of prosternum ( Fig. 1B ); mesotarsomere 3 with long spine-like process in male ( Figs. 1E–F ).................................... A. laticollis
