Type Locality: China, W Sichuan, Qionglai Shan, 30 mi (48 km) W Wenquan, 9000 ft (2743 m).
Vernacular Names: Marie's Vole.
Distribution: Qionglai Shan, W Sichuan, 2318-3660 m.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Lawrence (1982) located the type locality of V. musseri about 35 miles southwest from that of V. millicens , the two separated by the Chehshieh Shan. The 45 examples of V. musseri were trapped in the same lines as Neodon irene and Eothenomys melanogaster ( Lawrence, 1982) .
