Neotype (designated here by Oliver): South Africa. Cape Peninsula, 3418AB, Kenilworth Race course, sandy flats with short restiads, mainly in hollows, 100ft, 18 Dec 1959, Oliver 382 (NBG).

Current name: Erica multumbellifera P.J. Bergius View in CoL ( Ericaceae ).
