Type: LAOS, mountain range north of Vientiane, Ritaville, 750 m, 12 Jan. 1969, A.D. Kerr 2826 (holotype C) . ( Figure 2 )

= B. jingdongense A.Q.Hu, D.P.Ye & Jian W.Li (2017: 200) . Type: CHINA, Yunnan Province, Jingdong County, Pu’er , 1,550 m, 17 Jan. 2016, A.Q. Hu et al. 803 (holotype NOCC).

Habitat and phenology: —Lowland and submontane forests at elevations 750–1550 m a.s.l. Flowers in June and January–March ( Hu et al. 2017, Pingyot et al. 2019).

Distribution. — Vietnam (Son La Province, Thuan Chau District), Thailand (Phitsanulok Province, Chattrakan District), S China (Yunnan Province), central Laos (Khammouane Province).

Specimen examined: — VIETNAM, voucher herbarium specimen and photos prepared in 11 June 2021 by Truong Ba Vuong, Phan Trong Quyet, Ngo Quang Dang BV1184 ( VNM00069900 ) from plant cultivated in private garden in Da Lat Town, Lam Dong Province, originated from Son La Province, Thuan Chau District, Pha Din Pass .
