Amemboides sexualis ( Polhemus & Andersen, 1984)

Amemboa (Amemboides) sexualis J. Polhemus & Andersen, 1984: 105–106 , Figs. 118–121 (type locality: Ban Van Heue, Vientiane, Laos); Cheng et al., 2006: 209 (record Yunnan, China: misidentification).

Material examined. VIETNAM: Nghe An Prov.: 3 males, 5 females (apterous), 6 fifth instar male nymphs, 11 nymphs sex indeterminate, Pu Mat Nature Reserve, spring fed stream crossing trail nr. Kem waterfall, 375 m . elev., coll. J. T. Polhemus & P. Nguyen, 1 Apr. 2000, CL4384 ( JTPC) . Ha Tinh Prov.: 3 males, 5 females (apterous), Vu Quang N'Park, Khe Lim waterfall, coll. Remarks. This species was originally described from three localities in Laos. It is here newly reported from Vietnam, from Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces both bordering Laos. The records of Amemboides sexualis from Yunnan, China by Cheng et al. (2006) belong to Amemboides yunnanus ( Zettel, Yang & Tran, 2007) (see Zettel et al. 2007: 228–229). The late instar male nymphs have developed the extended genital segments with the posterolateral projections, but not the setiferation of adult males.
