Lectotype male, SMTD [des. Pont and Carvalho 1994:232]; paralectotypes, male/female, SMTD, ZMHB. Type­locality: Chile, Guayacán. Distr.­ Peru, Bolivia, southern Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Falkland Is.; introduced, probably through commerce, into South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
