Holotype

Type locality. Brazil

Current name. Typhlocerus prodigiosus (Thomson, 1868)

Remarks. No specimens of this species are found in MNHN collection and the holotype is presumed to be lost. A neotype specimen deposited at the USNM has been designated by Lingafelter et al. (2014).
