Figs. 2B–D View FIGURE 2 , 5C,D View FIGURE 5 , 20B View FIGURE 20

Diagnosis. Very similar to H. longipilosa , distinguished by differences in shape and colouration of the tegmina and differences in leg structures.

Material studied. Holotype, 1♂, Maltese Archipelago, Gozo, Fungusrock, 8.IV.2006, leg. A, Sciberras (prep.: Bo 1328). ( ZSM).

Description of male. Size. Length of pronotum: 4.1 mm; length of tegmina: 14.5 mm.

Colouration. The animal is preserved in alcohol. Head with vertex dark brown, face lighter brown and further lightening towards the labrum. Pronotum as in H. bolivari , but colour of dark posterior area more uniform. Tegmina in the basal third and towards the anterior border almost transparent with distinct dark venation and darker marbling, in the more apical parts uniformly pale brownish; costalfield whitish transparent, dark brown stripe along the basal part of the subcosta, anal furrow transparent, considerably broadening towards its ending at the posterior border of the tegmen ( Fig. 20B View FIGURE 20 ). Remaining body straw-coloured.

Head. Eyes and ocelli equidistant, distance equal to the diameter of the ocelli; interocellar depression in one plain turning over to the interantennal area; in the transition zone with a pair of very small but unusually deep foveolae.

Pronotum. Anterior border mesally with a distinct sinusoidal projection, lateral border moderately truncate, distinct only at the anterior corners.

Wings. Relatively short. Tegmina in the apical half considerably narrowing to a well rounded apex situated far anteriorly, anterior border in the apical two thirds rather straight; with about 19 veinal branches in the discoidal field ( Fig. 20B View FIGURE 20 ).

Other characters. Hindfemora: along the ventral edges with numerous tiny spinules ( Fig. 2C,D View FIGURE 2 ).—Tibia armament: [1.8.0][6.8. 1][9.7.4] 1, dorsal spines of hindtibia in two groups à 6 and 3, ventral spines in two groups à 2, spines of the proximal pair inserted immediately side by side; hindtibia proximally with rather short bristles ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ), not reaching the length of the tibial spines.—Subgenital plate: Fig. 5C View FIGURE 5 .—Right phallomere: Fig. 5D View FIGURE 5 .

Female: unknown.
